What if there is bad weather?

Our trips will proceed rain, snow, or shine! These trips are planned months in advance. Unless there is extreme or life-threatening weather we'll be out shooting! In the event of extreme weather during an on-going workshop we'll use that time for editing images and classroom work. Please come prepared with appropriate gear for the forecast of your trip. We'll send out more accurate information regarding weather in the days leading up to any workshop. Mandy Lea Photo reserves the right to cancel any photography workshop if extreme weather poses a safety hazard.

Can I bring my dog?

If your dog is a pet, no. Pets are not allowed in most of the places we conduct photography workshops. Even if pets are allowed in some of our shooting locations we require that you leave your pet at home, in your camper, in your hotel room, or board it. Pets can harass or harm wildlife by making noise, chasing them, or catching them. Pets can damage the ground and plants by digging or rolling. Pets can attract other animals such as bears, cougars, or coyotes looking for easy meals. Also, not every client we have loves your pet as much as you do. If it is a legit service animal ("service animal" excludes emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals) the animal is allowed to go wherever we go during our workshops. However, if the service animal misbehaves in any way or the owner fails to care for or clean up after the animal we will ask that the animal be left behind for the remainder of the workshop. If you are traveling with a pet we recommend bording it during our photography workshop or finding accommodations that offer pet sitting services.

Is gratuity included/expected?

While gratuities aren’t required or even expected, they are always much appreciated! If you feel your experience was worth it then feel free to throw us a tip. Our industry standard asks for 10-20% of trip cost, but honestly, we're happy with a meal, a bottle of whiskey, or some IPA’s!

Do I need to have a professional level camera?

No! Our goal is to help people take better photographs regardless of their camera of choice. Bring a SLR, DSLR, mirrorless camera, point-and-shoot, or even your smart phone!
