DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, CAPhotography Experience Level: Beginner-to-Advanced
Physical Fitness Level: Easy-to-Moderate
At the hottest, driest, and lowest place in North America you’ll find Death Valley National Park—the largest National Park in the Continental United States. Within Death Valley’s 3.4 million acres lies countless otherworldly opportunities for photography! Prepare to be amazed by pristine sand dunes, mud cracks, big mountain views, salt pans, towering canyon walls, and unique colors and textures.
Join photographers Mandy Lea and Kendrick Callaway for an unforgettable experience in this land of extreme geology! In this workshop, we’ll photograph classic locations like Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point, and many others. Of course, we’ll get off the beaten path and show you locations that can only be found by getting out there and exploring, too! We’ll photograph sunrises, sunsets, mid-day locations, and might even get out to shoot stars once or twice.
Regardless of your experience level you’ll receive plenty of personalized instruction from Mandy and Kendrick during this workshop! We will help shooters of all abilities learn everything from the basics of camera functions to more advanced shooting techniques. Throughout the workshop there will be plenty of opportunities to photograph in the field and a few classroom sessions to work on post processing. Lastly, a final day image review session with other students will give interesting insight into how different people photograph the same locations as well as instructor critiques of your favorite images.
Our days will start early, end late, and be full of stunning desert scenery!
Workshop Size Limit: 10
Note: The group size is being limited to ten participants to ensure each student gets plenty of one-on-one instruction in the field. Minimum class size must be met or workshop might be cancelled.
